This project explores the intersection of social housing, systemic inequality, and migrant justice in London, focusing on Carpenters Estate in Stratford. It examines how organised abandonment manifests spatially and how community-led interventions can reclaim underused spaces as alternatives to top-down regeneration.

Through multi-scalar mapping, archival research and participatory work with housing activists, the project addresses issues such as overcrowding, damp and social isolation. Its low-impact design strategies, including a community centre, shared laundries, tool sheds and flexible gathering spaces, reframe social housing as infrastructure of care, embedding dignity, participation and resistance to displacement.
